Bunk Beds

Bunk beds for children's rooms that need two beds in the floor space of one. Look for safety rails on the top bunk, and for storage steps that double as a staircase and a place for toys. Solid wood frames are sturdy and quiet; themed designs make bedtime easier. Check your ceiling height before you choose: a child on the top bunk needs room to sit up. Each listing gives the features and the finish so you can compare them side by side.

Choosing a bunk bed

Safety, headroom and the ladder.

How much ceiling height do I need?

Leave at least 75–90cm between the top mattress and the ceiling so a child can sit up without bumping their head.

Ladder or storage steps?

Storage steps are easier for younger children to climb and add storage; a ladder takes less floor space.

What age is the top bunk for?

The top bunk is generally for children over six. Keep the safety rails in place at all times.
